Redefining digital transformation

Nathan Moane joined Worley Consulting as Director of Business Development, based in Perth, Australia, with a mission: to redefine how customers think about digital transformation. He covers Digital Consulting across EMEA and APAC, bringing a truly global perspective to his work. With an MBA and as a qualified leader in Business and Technology, he brings over two decades of experience across energy, mining and technology. His focus has always been on improving productivity by putting the user experience at the center – ensuring that technology serves people, not the other way around.

Human-centric innovation

Nathan’s curiosity about why people do what they do – from operators on the frontline to executives in the boardroom – has shaped his perspective on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. He believes these tools should extend thinking time, reduce decision fatigue, and spark creativity, enabling teams to solve problems in more agile, cross-functional ways.

Connecting people to solve problems

Reflecting on his career, he shares, “I have always enjoyed connecting people together to solve problems. The real magic happens when teams shift from focusing on their own needs to becoming high-functioning, agile innovation factories.” This is where he sees the biggest opportunity for digital innovation – embedding AI into day-to-day operations to help teams see challenges through a broader, collaborative lens.

Preparing the industry for the next generation

Looking ahead, Nathan is clear about the challenge: “If industry doesn’t move fast enough to contextualize the knowledge of aging workforce with governance and frameworks for AI, we risk losing the next generation of talent – people who are already fluent in digital tools and eager to apply them.”

For Nathan, success will be measured not only by smarter operations but by building a future where technology helps people thrive.
