Headshot of Marty Haluza of Wroley Consulting.

Marty Haluza has been developing solutions in the automation, Safety Systems and control space for over 30 years. Starting engineering systems for oil refineries and chemical plants, he’s built a career founded in the technical realities of industrial operations.

A specialized approach to complex programs

Core to Marty’s experience is Distributed Control System (DCS) Migration and Functional Safety upgrade programs. “We build out unique solutions for these specialty programs,” he explains. “Estimating metrics, portfolio planning for turnaround and capital spend, gap analysis and safeguard development utilizing industry best practice and equipment-based Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) databases.”

The impact of this approach has saved customers millions of dollars and secured large multi‑site programs that last over 10 years.

Leading high-performing technical teams

Based in Denver, Colorado, Marty has led teams of subject matter experts (SMEs) providing expertise across the full project spectrum. His teams have specialized in programming, startup and commissioning, panel and skid fabrication, manufacturing automation, functional safety and automation technical leadership. In his current role as Customer Engagement Partner, Marty is the account executive across strategic customers and partners with his peers across consulting, helping execute these complex programs across the Americas. With years of experience in automation, safety and controls, he works strategically with several of our core customers to transform their organizations.

“This team of talented individuals, combined with our one‑stop shop approach providing all aspects of a program, sets us apart from our EPC and system integrator competition,” he notes. “We utilize a consultant-led technical Project Management team, highly technical SMEs and base business engineering processes and structured design. All while ensuring a financially viable approach to achieving the customer longer term expectations”"

Smarter execution through standardization

The program team leverages templates and automation including Replic8, standardized cabinet layouts and skid design frameworks, to achieve leaner execution. They embrace data‑centric software including aeShield and exSILentia, while maintaining efficient staffing levels to maximize productivity across all projects. We also utilize our offices across the globe to maximize execution capabilities and increase access to SME knowledge.

Project reconciliation also plays a key role. “For existing capital projects that have heaters or compressors, we can execute those components with our Worley team, that provide an integrated approach to all of the customer’s needs,” Marty explains.

Expanding proven success

Looking ahead, Marty’s focused on stakeholder engagement and regional expansion as the consultancy‑led model continues to open doors across North America. “We’ve built strong stakeholder alignment in the Midcontinent. Now we’re taking this program into the Rocky Mountain region and leveraging that same approach,” he says.
