Exploring endless possibilities: Alcina’s career journey

When Alcina Da Costa set out to find an internship in electrical engineering and automation, she wasn’t just searching for experience, she was looking for purpose. Drawn to our global impact and values-led approach, she saw an opportunity to grow in an environment focused on collaboration, learning and real world contributions.
Finding purpose through people
From day one at our Metairie, Louisiana office, Alcina felt supported. “The engineers here trust me with real tasks and they encourage questions,” she says. That openness and willingness to share knowledge has shaped her experience. For Alcina, this isn’t just an internship it’s a space where she feels part of something bigger.
What stands out to her most is the people. “I feel seen and supported,” she explains. In a company spanning countries and cultures, Alcina’s found a local team that shares the belief that mentoring isn’t just a program, it’s part of how people work together every day.
Making a global impact
Alcina’s gaining hands-on experience in automation and instrumentation; not just observing but contributing to live projects and developing solutions. “I love that I’m learning by doing. It makes the work feel real and relevant,” she says.
Originally from Angola and fluent in four languages, Alcina brings a global mindset to her role. Reflective of her technical interests and worldly curiosity, Alcina’s studying French and international studies alongside electrical computer engineering. In line with her interests, the exposure to global projects is what excites her most. The opportunity to work across borders, apply her skills and one day help deliver sustainable change on a larger scale is something she’s continually working towards.
Crafting a career without limits
