Headshot of Will Diduck of Worley.

When you’ve spent over four decades in the industry like Will Diduck, Commissioning and Completions Lead, you develop a keen sense for what works – and what matters. For Will, it’s never been about ticking boxes or wrapping up projects. It’s about people, purpose and delivering safe, operational facilities that make a real difference.

Starting on the customer side over two decades ago, it was our culture – and people – that drew him in. “I remember being impressed by Worley’s safety standards and the professionalism of the project teams,” he says. “You could tell they genuinely cared.”

Now leading commissioning efforts across North America, he believes true project success is built by people, for people. “You don’t get anywhere without servant leadership,” he says. “It’s about giving your team the tools, support and respect they need. Because when you treat people right, they go the distance with you.”

Real world impact, every step of the way

In Will’s eyes, the commissioning phase is where the rubber hits the road. “It’s the most stressful, most critical part of any project,” he says. “It’s where we test everything under real conditions and ensure it works safely.”

It’s also where he thrives. “Every site is different. Every challenge is new. That’s what I love about project work, it’s dynamic and you never stop learning.” From Canada to Singapore to the Gulf Coast, Will’s built connections and capabilities that extend across borders.

His current focus is strengthening our commissioning and startup offering in North America, making sure it aligns with our vision for project delivery. “We talk a lot about end‑to‑end service,” he says. “To me, that means handing over a fully operating facility, not just a shiny piece of infrastructure.”

His goal is to strengthen our reputation for end‑to‑end solutions – taking projects from concept to product in pipe. “That’s what our customers expect and that’s what our people can deliver – together.”

Built for growth, powered by experience

After witnessing a serious electrical incident early in his career, Will is vigilant about the importance of safety. “At the end of the day, everyone deserves to go home safe and feel good about the work they’re doing.” And that care extends beyond site work. Will’s career has evolved through a constant drive to grow and help others do the same, and that starts with wellbeing.

“I’ve got the best of both worlds,” says Will. Based in Houston, he enjoys a flexible schedule that includes regular work from home. “Instead of grabbing coffee in the office kitchen, I take a walk in my backyard. It’s amazing what ten minutes of fresh air can do.”

“Commissioning can be isolating,” he says. “I make a point of checking in – sometimes daily – just so people know they’re not alone.” Because wellbeing isn’t just about breaks, it’s about feeling supported. “I check in with my managers not just about the work, but about what’s keeping them up at night. It makes a difference.”

It’s this human-centered leadership style that drives him. “I’ve been around long enough to know that how you treat people matters more than what you accomplish. You build your reputation one interaction at a time.”

A culture of care and connection

Ask Will what sets us apart, and his answer is simple: “The people.” Whether it’s leadership support, cross‑border collaboration or a shared respect for doing things right, Will sees a culture where help is never far away.

“You can reach out to anyone here,” he says. “And more often than not, they’ll help or point you in the right direction.”
