Data, drive and the determination to go above and beyond
Worley gives you room to prove yourself and take on more.
In just a few months in our team, Juan Carlos Abril Ramírez has brought energy, curiosity and a passion for data to the Bogotá, Colombia, inside sales team. As an Inside Sales Associate, Juan supports the team through the Customer Success Platform (CSP) and Project Experience Database (PED) foundational tasks that keep consulting operations running smoothly and effectively across our teams.
A meaningful career evolution
Juan has a knack for problem-solving and process improvement, driven by his background in engineering and data analytics. He’s already taken the lead on a major data research project focused on water, supporting project managers in developing insights that help shape customer conversations. “Everyone said it was vital for their approach to top-tier customers. That made me feel proud, it showed me my work matters.”
His role has already begun to grow, now training to become a CSP Super User; a responsibility that reflects his work ethic and potential. “I want to evolve here many times,” he says. “Worley gives you room to prove yourself and take on more.”
That growth has been supported by a work culture that recognizes effort and promotes balance. Juan appreciates initiatives like recognition programs and extra time off, which help maintain a positive balance between work and life. “It really shows that people are appreciated and that’s so motivating.”
Support from the inside out
Juan, who has a hearing disability and uses a cochlear implant, has found genuine support in our culture, speaking passionately about our focus on inclusivity. “Their commitment to inclusion is real. I’ve worked at other companies before, but the way Worley includes people of all backgrounds is something other companies could learn from.”
Communication has been one of Juan’s biggest challenges and sources of growth. “I sometimes have difficulty even in my native language,” he says with a smile. “So speaking with colleagues from Canada, the US and the UK has pushed me to grow.” Despite the challenges, he sees this as a chance to become better both professionally and personally.
When asked what it's like to be part of his team, Juan turns to the Pixar film, Inside Out, “I feel like I’m the ‘Joy’ of the team,” he says. “There’s a lot of emotion and energy but in a good way. I like to bring light and positivity wherever I go.” And his team agree: Juan’s enthusiasm and sincerity are unmistakable.
Collaborative support, constant growth
Looking to the future, Juan’s eager to continue developing his skills, especially in data research and international collaboration. He hopes to support projects in Latin America and beyond, helping expand our reach and impact. “I never want to stay in one place. I want to keep moving forward and help the company do the same.”
And his leadership style reflects this. “I don’t want people to see me just as a leader, but as a friend. Someone they can count on, someone working alongside them toward a common goal.”
